Intensive Mandarin Course | Without Housing

I thought the small group (two students) class was very helpful when learning. I felt using the HSK curriculum was very helpful in format. I enjoyed learning new vocabulary and seeing it in practice in dialogue form. This helped me to ask questions and better understand the sentence structure.

The location of the class was a bit far for me since I live an hour away by train.

Having lived in Chengdu for almost three years and taken language lessons on and off with many different teachers I was looking for something to put all the small pieces together. I needed a confidence boost to speak the language and re-ignite my desire to learn. Taking 40 hours of lessons in two weeks was intense, but so valuable. My teacher at Hutong explained things previous teachers could not and helped me make connections with my previous knowledge. These things gave me confidence that I knew more that I realized which motivated me to want to continue to learn more. Having learned from six different teachers and used multiple online language programs I can say without a doubt that my teacher at Hutong, Jonah, is by far the best language teacher I have ever had. I did not use Hutong housing since I already live in the city, the facilities were a bit far from me but very conveniently located near a metro station. I hope to be able to find more time in the future to continue classes.
